The 3rd Annual Africa Day Reggae Festival celebrates African Unity under the following themes: “0% Racism and 0%Xenophobia in our lifetime. ” This year’s event is bigger and better with an international line up that promises to leave our patrons in stitches with their global reggae and dancehall tunes.
As usual we are also bringing a Hip-hop line up to help us get our youth in attendance on the day. We believe for us to educate our youth about reggae music, rastafarian community and social cohesion, it should be done by using the very artform in resonance with their culture and Hip-hop happens to be that artform.
From Kalawa Jazmee we have the legendary AB Crazy , who is our Hip-hop Guest artist for 2017. We then have Mizophyll, sir maklekker, prifix, P-postman, shoni Mrepa and many others. Reggae giants are led by Fruity star, Pepsin, Bun’pot, star-general, Humbulani Ramagwedzha, Colbert Mukwevho, Botanist, Jahzo, Khakhathi, Black jahman, Jah man Chiganzha and many others. Malondolo and Muofhe will nourish our patrons with reggae and Afrikan coverversions of musical greats such as Bob Marley, salif keita, Papa wemba, Oliver mutukudzi and others. This year’s event will open with a pre-party on Friday the 26 May 2017.
